Copy & Pasting Email addresses into individuals cells

    Hi
I am a new user and trying to setup a database in excel. I can select all addresses and copy but when trying to paste into excel it does so in 1 cell.

Is there a way I can paste the separate email id's into individual cells so I don't have to do it individually?

    Many thanks
    Patrick

    Good morning patrickchaperon

    ...and welcome to the forum!!

Not much information here - next time you post include more information for a more complete answer.

I'm assuming you're copying from, say an e-mail client address bar and that all the addresses have some kind of delimiting character (; perhaps?). Copy the list of addresses into one cell, then go to Data > Text to Columns, and through the wizard choose Delimited and what your delimiter is and follow the wizard through.

    thanks!

    Hi Dominic
A big thanks you've saved me a great deal of time.
    Much appreciated, thank you!

ps. i might be pushing my luck here but i'll give it a go...
Do you know a way where I could paste the email addresses without the apostrophe's, so excel would paste it like abc@123.com instead of 'abc@123.com'?
    Cheers

Not to paste the text without the apostophe, no. What you could do is once you've got the addresses into seperate cells is use a macro like the one below :
Please Login or Register to view this content.
Just highlight your range and go to Tools > Macro > Macros, select "test" (or whatever you've called it) from the box and click OK.
