Hi
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to share a cell or number of cells contained within a password protected spreadsheet with another seperate spreadsheet without having to enter the password for the primary sheet whenever you want to view the other?
Basically I am wondering if there is a way to make certain cells on a protected sheet exempt from the password protection so they can be viewed on another sheet, without having to enter the password?
Thanks
Richard
You can pull in the values whether or not they are protected - have you tried it?

Yes but when the slave spreadsheet is opened it prompts you for a password for the primary sheet before the cells will update
Hi Richard,
I can do it, no problem, even if the other sheet is closed, using 2003.
I set up one book, entered some values, protected the sheet (users not allowed to select anything, and closed the book.
In book 2 I put in the path, sheet and cell reference of the first book and it pulled the values through.
What Excel version are you using?

when I try it with a password protected sheet in 2003 the slave sheet will not update the shared cells unless I enter the password for the other sheet

Sorry,
As I can't replicate the problem, I can't help you - maybe someone else will jump in.
