Is there anyway to compare 2 excel files, see whether the contents are the same or not? The last modify time / Create time can be different, which is ok for me. Just need to compare the formulas cell by cell, worksheet by worksheet, preferrably not using macros. Any suggestion welcome, many thanks in advance.
put:
=<workbook1><sheet1!>A1=<workbook2><sheet2!>A1
into a third workbook and copy across, then play find the FALSE (which can be achieved by searching values for FALSE...)
Not terribly beautiful but does the job without mucking around.

Hi Cheeky Charlie,
Thanks for your prompt reply. Yes this way has been used, but put off due to the size of the files. Each has 120 sheets, all different, most of have filled with data from A1: DA3000 over. Sometimes the copy & paste action freeze my excel. Anyway can minimise my keystrokes?
um...preferrably not using macros
can't think of any
Well, if Macro is the only way, would it be possible to make it simple? I'm afraid my level is novice within novice. Can't even figure out the good things of the Index-Match mix.
Speaking of the devil, is there any good and simple thread about the Index-Match mix in this forum? Kindly please let me know the link. My thanks in advance.
