Thread: Different error bars on same line.

I have a line graph with 2 points on it and a line connecting them. At each point, I have added error bars. I would like to have different values for each error bar but do not know how to do so.

I would like to have the error bar at the first point have a value of 0.74 and the error bar at the second point have a value of 0.58.

In Excel 2007, you can specify 'custom' error bars and then point to a range in the sheet. I assume you can do this with earlier versions.

I figured it out:

1. The different margin or percentage error values must be placed inline on a row or column.
2. Then from the Format Error Bars window, select Custom, click on Specify Value.
3. Set the positive or negative values to the entire row or column the error values were placed.
4. The values will be placed on points in order the error values were listed listed.
