Every time I import a query containing email addresses from Access into Excel, I end up with a "rider" on each email that looks like this: "addressee@address.com#mailto:addressee@address.com#". Does anyone have an idea of why this happens and what I can do to prevent it?

I found the source of my problem and found a way around it, although the solution is not very elegant. Access automatically adds the duplicates when the email addresses are hyperlink type. I created another field called txt email which was text type. I pasted the emails into the new column and imported the text type instead of the hyperlink type. For some odd reason, this moved my email column from the middle of the spreadsheet to the far right of the fields. In my case, the location did not matter. There is one bonus: if you double click the text emails in Excel, they revert back to the hyperlink data type. Lesson learned: if you plan to export email addresses from Access, make sure you specify the data type as text.
