    Linking workbooks

    Hey Gang,

Having a small problem with linking workbooks. Here is the formula below

    =SUMIF('H:\Host File\Events Attended\09-10\[Events Attended List March09-March10.xls]LIST'!$B$2:$B$2000,B9)

The problem is this: When the workbook that it is linked to, when i close it i get a VALUE error. But when i reopen it it works fine?? I need it to work regardless of open or close.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Mikey

    Re: Linking workbooks

I think i figured it out

    =VLOOKUP(B9,'H:\Host File\Events Attended\09-10\[Events Attended List March09-March10.xls]LIST'!$B$2:$B$2000,1,FALSE)

It works for what i need.
