How to pivot number and string data alltogether

    Hi all
Sorry for my bad english at first, then..
I would like to know if it is possible to perform a task similar to what in Access is called "crosstab query".
So for example I have a spreadsheet with 3 columns.
The first with "X" city names and data (time) values, the second with "Y" names of tests and the third with values of each test obtained in each city for each data.
In the records of this last field there can be a number or a string (ex 1, 2.3, 1000 but also <2, ND, >200 and so on).
I need to pick every city/data and put them in a column, then pick each test name and put in the first row an I need to populate the remaining matrix with the corresponding test value.

I don't need to aggregate (mean, max ecc) but to report the exact value, both number or string.

In access you can do a crosstab query, in excel is this task possible?

    Thanks
    Pietro

Hi, take a look at pivot tables. www.contextures.com has some good tips for that

Avoid pie charts with more than two data points. Why? See here (pdf, 559 kb). The only acceptable pie chart is here.
