Thread: Copying contents of a cell from another worksheet

Hi,

I have cells C5:C30 on one worksheet containing the names of people that are referenced from another worksheet (using ='Player Details'!$B5)

My problem is that if any of the criginal referenced are empty, i cannot sort the ones on the other worksheet in alphabetical order without excel sorting the blank cells first.

How can I get round this so it sorts the blank cells to the bottom of the list? Im presuming it's a job for a macro?

Hi there,

You could possibly try first sorting the whole lot Z-A (thereby putting the blanks to the bottom) and then just selecting the non-blank cells and doing an A-Z sort.

Hi,

Sorry i should have said - im already running a (recorded) macro which works by the user clicking on the name of the header column...So a manual sort wouldn't be useful - although thanks for that, it will be the next time i need to avoid it!
