    break in # sequence

    Have a spreadsheet with rows that are numbered. in example below # 6 has been skipped. Would like to know there is a conditional format to hightlight either 5 or 7 to show me that there is a break.

    Hi Ice,

    You can use conditional formatting. For example, if your sample data is in A1:A9, select those cells and open the Conditional Formatting dialog. Choose 'Use a formula' (or 'Formula Is' if you're using Excel 2003) and type the following formula:

    =A2<>A1+1

    Choose a background fill or font color, etc. then click OK. Hope that helps!
