Interval jumps between a Min and Max value

    Hello,

I have a dial (****) that I turn to change a Value between a Min and Max value. The dial has roughly 100 clicks, to 'feel good'. (see attached)

Each row needs an interval between the Min and Max value. I started to set the interval manually but since I change currency all interval needs to be changed for each new currency.
I started to look for an automatic formula rather that setting the interval manually for each new currency.

    Any good suggestions?

    Ola

....a not so elegant solution, but it works (Excel sheet, updated)
I'll be grateful for a more efficient solution.

Re: Interval jumps between a Min and Max value

    Hi Ola,

I'm afraid I'm not getting it. What dial? So you turn a dial somewhere and then what happens? What does that have to do with currency?

Can you explain how you arrive at the Jump numbers for this?

    Code:
    MIN	MAX	JUMPS
    35	75	1
    0.20	1.10	0.01
    1,500	3,800	100
    3.7	14.8	0.1
    3.0	5.5	0.1
    75,000	150,000	1,000
    what is the logic?

Avoid pie charts with more than two data points. Why? See here (pdf, 559 kb). The only acceptable pie chart is here.

Re: Interval jumps between a Min and Max value

    Thanks for the reply teylyn.
I am sorry I could not explain the problem well enough.

I have one solution - if your are interested to have a look at the updated file. I think it easier than me trying to explaination the problem.

The formula is not elegant, so I would happy to see a more efficient formula.
The spreadsheet will later be transformed to a Xcelsius Flash application, which is why I hope the most efficient formula.
