Hi there...I've seen a few posts regarding trailing spaces when converting Excel files to .prn, however they are typically to remove the spaces. I need to preserve the trailing spaces, and cannot figure out how to make that happen. My columns in excel are set up as follows.
Last, First Name__________ Phone#Premise#__________ 2____
Last, First Name__________ Phone#Premise#__________ 1____
Last, First Name__________ Phone#Premise#__________ 7____
Last, First Name__________ Phone#Premise#__________ 1____
Last, First Name__________ Phone#Premise#__________ 14___
Last, First Name__________ Phone#Premise#__________ 22___
The underscores represent the number of spaces, as there should be 5 characters in the last column. Is there an easy way of accomplishing this? I'd prefer not to get into any programming if I can help it, but will attempt it if necessary.
Thanks,
Suzanne

Not much experience converting to prn files (i.e., none), but have you tried formatting the cells specifically as text before the conversion?
Unfortunately that didn't do the trick either. I don't know why it completely ignores the spaces to be honest - even in text format. Thanks for the suggestion though!
The next issue I've encountered is that when I manually enter the spaces, carriage returns start to show up in the text file. So now I need to preserve the trailing spaces AND prevent the carriage returns. Ugh.
