The below is courtesy of an MS Excel MVP - I won't name names as I suspect they won't want to get involved in the thread:

I really think that in this Forum there are few members with high skill in Excel and I don't consider an MVP to be "Almighty".
MVP is an award, mainly, for participating in discussion groups and/or Blogs and it does not, necessarily, grade that person as being the best in Excel.
I can show you a lot of MVPs replies that does not "fit" that award.
If - up to this moment - you, and others, didn't come up with a solution to my question - this is enough for me to understand that there is no such (even without quoting an MVP).
Have a nice weekend,

Even though you have decided to "keep your cards close to your chest" by not revealing the MVPs name whom you found appropriate to quoted - take a look at the hereunder link.
Two MVPs answered the question.
The first wrote what I and my friends consider to be the correct answer.
The second MVP showed up TWO !!! HOURS later and stated that only the font can be changed.
quote: The only attribute you can change is the font size.
Even though that's an OS customization - one would expect from an MVP to check what he is going to reply.
You'll have to take my word that this is one example - out of many - and I'm not going to waste my time to find the others - which were "Mega formulas" in cases where a simple formula could do.
I would expect an MVP to present the shortest formula for a given task because we both know that summing up 5 cells, A1:A5, could also be achieved with:
=A1+A2+A3+A4+A5

Here is another example for "not being professional".
What do you think about the suggestion to Copy>Paste Special>Values ?
A solution must not to be misleading to be considered as a Non-Professional !
Would you suggest such a solution when Random numbers (changing - as the OP mentioned) are concerned ?

What would you say about this one ?
Is this a misunderstanding OR a bit of lack of knowledge ?
You attention to the very clear example posed by the OP (quoting):
Result Example
Apple $1.05
Orange $1.75

All the above examples are from the last couple of weeks.
Imagine what collection I can come up with if I'll dig farther and deeper...
From where I stand this case is closed unless someone will present a solution to my original question.

You have an interesting way of trying to get others to help you.
Nor should you, but it is not, generally, an award given lightly. For the most part, they have a very good knowledge of their award subject. It doesn't make them always right, but it does make them worth listening to as a rule.and I don't consider an MVP to be "Almighty".![]()
