    Gross pay Calculator

    Trying to find a formula in G2 that takes the people's names in column A, vlookup or similar to find out how much he/she makes per hour, and calculates it with total work hours. Gross pay would take into account for all individuals together, and not separate.

    Kind of confusing. Please see attached for an example

    Thanks!

    Don't understand what you mean by this - perhaps show an example manually to clarify.

    Try this in G2: =VLOOKUP(A2,$J$2:$K$7,2,0)*8+IF(F2>0,1.5*VLOOKUP(A2,$J$2:$K$7,2,0),0)

    Re: Gross pay Calculator

    Hi, this might possibly be done in one single calculation involving a complicated array construct, but much easier would be to create a new column for individual pay, populate it with

    =(VLOOKUP(A2,$K$2:$L$7,2,FALSE)*C2*E2)+(VLOOKUP(A2,$K$2:$M$7,3,FALSE)*F2)

    copied down, and then simply sum up the cells of that column.

    Hi,

    Is there a reason you choose not to Have Employee Payroll Numbers, That would simplify the process as well as ensure that typo's in the name do not pickup the wrong record.

    Anyway, my solution would be to use a sumif like so;

    =SUMIF(J:J,A2,K:K)*E2*D2+SUMIF(J:J,A2,L:L)*F2

    Cheers

    Re: Gross pay Calculator

    If I've understood:

    G2: =SUMPRODUCT((SUMIF($J$2:$J$7,$A$2:$A$5,$K$2:$K$7)*($C$2:$C$5*$E$2:$E$5))+(SUMIF($J$2:$J$7,$A$2:$A$5,$L$2:$L$7)*($F$2:$F$5)))
    Based on sample file this would generate a Gross Pay total of $5,508.64
