Hi,
I have no doubt this is something really simple however it has me stumped,
I have two sheets one with a list containing 3 different words and on another page a section which is a summary.
How can I make the count but also keep it dynamic so if more cells were added it would keep toting it up.
I have enclosed a sample below
Thanks,

Ideally would need
Live: 5
Pending: 25
Dead: 8
As a summary
Sorry for being ignorant about this.

This is 1 column of 15 which contains sales data, the data is broken up into diffrent catagories one of which is their status.
The document is huge and i wanted to make page 1 a bit of an interface with quick easy to read referances to the rest of the document.
So in this small part I want at a glance to be able to see exactly how many accounts are active (live) how many are ongoing and how many are closed.
I understand that, but with the sample list you supplied how do you get the numbers you are expecting, rather than the numbers my formulae are giving...
