Hey guys, new to this forum but not forums in general. Your help is appreciated!
I want to sum each row in a single column, example:
Can I enter one formula in a new column to add each separate row together, or do I "HAVE" to enter the formula for each row like I have been doing?=J12+Q12
=J13+Q13
=J14+Q14
...ect
I have many sheets to do this to and would like to speed it along! Thanks for listening!
Try:
=SUM(J12:J18,Q12:Q18)
Adjust ranges to suit.

The way I read your question, you are asking how to get the formula =J12 + Q12 to automatically update as go down the column. Is that right?
There are a number of ways. First fill in your first formula.
1. You can then drag the cell by grabbing the lower right hand corner of the cell (your cursor will change to a +) and dragging.
2. Select the range you want your formula to be in, including the cell you already filled (i.e. Z12). Hit CNTRL + D (copy down shortcut)
3. Copy the cell with the formula. Select the rest of the range (i.e. Z13:Z100) and PASTE (CNTRL + V).
Hope that helps.

If it is ChemistB's solution you say works, then you can also employ the List feature found in the Data menu.
It allows you to insert new rows, and automatically have formulas copy down to those new rows.
