I have been running Excel 2003 on my old machine and need to transfer my settings (macros, toolbars, buttons, user-defined functions etc.) to Excel XP on a new Virtual XP machine.
The relevant files to transfer are, I think:
My questions are:
- excel11.xlb
- personal.xls
- udf.xla (my own user-defined functions)
This change is forced on me because I do not have a disk for Office 2003 (the last version I have been using) but I do have one for Excel XP. I am assuming that most, if not all, of my 2003 applications are backwards-compatible with XP!
- Is that the complete list, or are there any others I do not know about?
- As the transfer is a downgrading from Office11 (2003) to Office10 (XP/2002), do I have to convert excel11.xlb somehow, or can I just change the name to excel10.xlb?
Answers and any other helpful comments would be welcome. I have already tried the transfer once and got it wrong in a way that I cannot fix.

Your personal.xls and udf.xls should probably not be a problem, unless there are features in the code not available in 2002.
Find your current .xlb, and change it's name so tht you don't lose it. Then save your new .xlb with the name excel10.xlb. Not sure if this will work, but you can restore the original .xlb by changing the name back
Hope that helps.

Seems like the change from Excel 2002 to 2003 were quite minor.
