    VLOOKUP and IF nested formula?

    Hi there,
    Please see attached spreadsheet.

I am trying to use a VLOOKUP or HLOOKUP to achieve the following:

I am trying to find out the number of active hoods (pulled from the activehoods named range on the criteria tab) based on the facility in column B on the Raw Data! tab AND also based the time increment in column F on the Raw Data! tab.

I think i may be going about this all wrong, so any simpler suggestions are welcome!

I thank you in advance for your help!

    Cameron

    Hi,

See if this Pivot Table solution is what you want.

I did 2 Pivots on the Raw sheet.

Re: VLOOKUP and IF nested formula?

    Sort of.
I'm ultimately trying to create a chart that tracks the ratio of hoods to RPh throughout the day. So, I initially need to get the number of hoods associated with a half hour increment. The active hood numbers differ based on what facility it is.
So I was hoping for just a formula in column E to account for this info (the number of hoods active during a particular time frame per facility is located under the activehoods named range on the criteria tab)

    does that help clear up?

    Hi,

Pivot Tables can have times as rows also, Look at this one to see 3 possible pivots on the Raw Sheet. You can group the times by hours or any time grouping also.

Please take a few minutes and read the Forum Rules about cross posts.

Cross-posting is when you post the same question in other forums on the web. You'll find people are disinclined to respond to cross-posts because they may be wasting their time solving a problem that has been solved elsewhere.

It is preferred that you not cross-post at all, but if you do, please provide a link to the cross-post

I totally agree with Jeff's comments about Cross Posting.

Why would you post somewhere else when we give great and timely answers.
