    Excel formulas

Hi, I'm creating a database using excel 2010 for the calibration of tools. The columns I have are "date calibrated" (manually insert a date), and "date due" (I have already put a formula in there which + 365 days to the date calibrated). The problem I am having is that when I drag the formula down the column it automatically puts a date in the rows that have no information yet. Is there a way to hide the formula until new tool information is entered into a row?

I hope someone can help, Thanks, Tom

    Re: Excel 2010 conditional formatting

Hi, I have a database for the calibration of tools. I have created the formulas, which work, to make the due date go GREEN when over 30 days of the due date, YELLOW when within 30 days and RED when on the due date or over the date. Is there a way of pulling the formulas down so when each row has a date entered the due date will change colour. I have tried to pull the formula down but the whole column changes colour when the first date cell changes.
    Thanks again, Tom

    Re: Excel formulas

You can use an IF function in the first cell in which you want the "Date due" to be shown:

    =IF(A1>0,A1+365,"")
where A1 contains the "Date calibrated" value

    Re: Excel 2010 conditional formatting

edit the conditional formating formula - take out $ infront of row number... in other wprds change $A$1 to $A1 etc...
