    Stacked Bar chart

    Hi,

I have a dataset of the following form:
    Bill £10,000 Black
    John £12,000 Blue
    Dave £9,000 Orange
    Sue £11,000 Black
    Jane £5,000 Orange
    Sam £4,000 Blue
I want to set up a stacked bar chart with pounds on the Y axis. On the X axis I want three stacked bars, one for each colour, with the stacked elements being the pound values for rows with the same colour. For example, the Black column would be £21,000 high, with £10,000 from Bill and £11,000 from Sue. I can't work out what data selection I should set up for this chart.

    Can you help?

    Nick.

Either use SUMPRODUCT to build a summary table for charting or use a pivot table/chart.

That's perfect - thanks so much for taking the time to do that.
