Brake downs displayed by hourly Time line

Hi I wonder if anybody could help a novice Excel user.

I have been volunteered to come up with a spreadsheet for a club to show effects of break downs on its members. I have attached a simple overview what is needed. I thought it would be easy, at the start but now I know why nobody else wanted the job.
I can get the start time plotted ok but trying show that across a timeline of more than more one hour has beaten me.
I have googled it and tried all watching a number of videos but so far not had much luck. I apologise if this has been asked before, if so please point me in the right direction
I need show the number of members affected when something brakes down a across a timeline plotted by hour from 08:00 to 00:00 (anything from 00:01 to 08:00 would go in that first hour)
This would be then need to be displayed as above, so that it could be shown on a graph
The data needs to be displayed in 2 ways :-
First as all open brake down up until the current hour which needs to be dynamic as per time of day?
Second I need to be able to select just the closed brake down across time line for a particular day chosen day of the current month . That way I would be able to build a month of data and just select by day for that period.

    Regards

    Phillip
