    if statements

    how do i do an if statement that looks like this:

    =IF(C10='[101 ED-MTJC - 106 ED-NWMT.xlsx]DS1'!$C$10,"awesome","bad")

    but instead of saying awesome or bad i want the cell to turn green and red

    Apply that formula still in your worksheet,

    Then select C10 and go to Home|Conditional Formatting, Manage Rules

    Select Use a formula to determine which cells to format from the Type area

    and enter formula like:

    =D10="awesome"

    where D10 is the cell you had the formula in

    click Format and choose from Fill tab.

    Click Ok, click New rule and repeat above with formula

    =D10="bad"
    Microsoft MVP - Excel
