I'm trying to combine two Census features, and my algebra is a bit rusty. I have a table with "Household Type" in 5 columns across the top and "Age of Householder" in three rows on the left. I have entered the total for every row and every column - now how do I calculate the value in each cell? I'm not sure this is possible because there may be more than one possible solution, but I'm hoping someone has an answer here. THANKS in advance for any guidance that can be offered.
Hi, you are off course right it can be more than one possible solution.
You can however estimate the value of each cell, as far as I can understand that will be on the condition that there is no statistical connection between the two variables mentioned and the dependent variable:
Each cells value will then be
"Sum Row" * ("Sum Column" / "Total Sum")
Thanks, that's exactly what I was using. Demographics is an inexact science - we break it down as much as we can and maintain the whole. Thanks for the help estige!
