Extract data from cryptically formatted Excel sheets

How can I transform data in excel in this form (see image here: http://imgur.com/PgX5r) into something suitable for using in a pivot chart. I need three columns eventually, Date, Country and Score. The amount of data points for each country is not constant.

Confusing data courtesy of the European Commission.

If you want help then you're better off posting a workbook, rather than an image.

Posting an image supposes that not only is somebody happy to help, but that they're also happy to spend their time typing your data in to work on.

    Hi,

Since there are presumably at maximum 27 countries involved the simplest approach is just to add another column for Country and copy the country name down each of the (four?) sets of dates.

You could write a macro to do it but in all honesty it'll be quicker just copying and pasting manually.

Cutting and pasting? Pah! I went with a helper column and needlessly complicated formula.

Thank-you very much for this solution. It was exactly what I was looking for.
