Formula for Checking info between worksheets

    Hi all,

Hoping you may be able to help me with something I've been asked to do.

I have been given 2 serperate documents containing company info. They are formatted in exactly the same way with the same fields/rows/columns, however throughout the documents there are a few differences where one document has been updated and the other not (E.G a changed email or company address).

    The fields are as follows:
    Name
    Address 1
    Address 2
    Address 3
    Address 4
    Postcode
    Country
    Telephone
    Fax
    E-mail 1

My boss has asked for it to be completed manually, but there are over 2000 entries and it'll take days. If there is anyone who could suggest a formula or macro that could help me it would be hugely appreciated.

I had to do something similar a little while ago. If the two are nearly identical in the number of records, row count, etc, and there are just a few differences, what I did was put the two worksheets into a single workbook, then created another worksheet with the equation
=Sheet1!A1=Sheet2!A1. Copied right, copied left. Then do a sort on FALSE values, which highlight differences.
I '<3' reputation. If I helped, click the scales. This will be helping an internal departmental competition with co-workers.

Reputation can be granted through the Scales Icon (for classic layout), or the little Star on the bottom of the post next to the blogging function for the new forum layout.

If you're not busy, and really feel down on life, read my excel blog which may or may not have contents.

Thanks a lot for your help Miraun it's been fantastic. I'm very very nearly there but it'll have to wait for Monday now.

I have the True/False thing working, I just can't drag the cells along to reference A1, B1, C1, D1 and then A2, B2, C2 ect. For some reason it isn't recognising them as cell references so I've had to do them manually for a bit but there are 1800 rows and about 15 columns so that'd take a long time manually.

I'll mess abuot with it on Monday to see if I can get it working. Thanks for your help - I will click the scales ;-)

    Have a good weekend.
