    Convert to Seconds

    Hi,

I copied some data from a website and it comes over as minutes:seconds:tenths of seconds. I want to convert the whole thing to total seconds. I know if you have hours:minutes:seconds you can go =(HOUR(cell)*60*60)+(MINUTE(cell)*60)+SECOND(cell). I am trying variations of this with no luck. Thoughts?

As an example, I want A1=36:35:00 to come out as B1=2195.

    Thanks.

This is not my strong area, but are you saying B1 is the number of seconds in 36:35:00?

There are 86400 seconds in a day...

Yes but 36:35:00 is 36 minutes, 35 seconds, 00 tenths of seconds.

    Since that's a bogus format for hh:mm:ss.00

Yes sorry about that...I missed that it was not hours...

Did you multiply the value by 86400?

If 36:35:00 is truly mm:ss.0 then the integer value would be 0.0254050925925926 and when multiplied by 86400 this would give you 2195.

Can you confirm what 36:35:00 truly is?
