    Thumbs up Getting a cell's row/column information - dynamic

    Hello,

I am trying to figure out the code to get the actual row number based off a reference. Example - =CELL("row",F22) tells me that it is the 22nd row. But here's the catch:

I have a long list of names that are all sorted in alphabetical order. I need the code to search for a particular name (based off another list of names I know are there) and then give me the row and column information when it finds the first instance. This list will change over time which is why I want to make code do the work for me instead of being forced to manually change it each time the list is updated.

I seem to be close using VLOOKUP but can't figure out how to get cell attributes while using that formula. ANY RECOMMENDATIONS????

Please reference the attached file for reference.

AND I found out what I needed to do all on my own. The answer is simple. Use the "MATCH" function.
