Thread: How to get the cell to calculate

Hi.

I had input a simple formula into a cell eg $A4 + 1. However, instead of showing the results of the formula, the cell is displaying $A4 + 1. I've already checked the cell format and it was a number format. I've also checked the calculation to ensure that it had defaulted to automatic calculation.
Does anyone know why this happens and how to resolve the problem?

I believe, you need to start formula with = sign, then only it will be take that...

FYI =$A4 + 1 is working fine.
