Thread: Excel hangs up when copying a chart

Excel hangs up when copying a chart. The lag time is proportionate to the amount of charts that are in the workbook. When only a few charts are present there is no lag during copy. As more are added, lag time increases. This problem started only recently.

Any thoughts? Have any of you experienced this?

Hi,
a way to keep your file smaller and thus mitigate your lag time is to go to the file tab,options,advanced,image size and quality, and set output to 96 ppi.
This should help a little but if you get too much in there it will always hang up. Try to copy and paste values on your source data as well to save room, if that isn't an option you can use array formulas to save space.

I should have noted the file worked fine for years up until a few weeks ago.
It just started all of a sudden and I'm wondering if it's due to a bad patch/update and if anyone else has also experienced this recently.
