Arrow subtracting days for every record

    hi all
    Noob question:

i have a sheet of data in which two columns are titled request_date and complete_date.

i want to make a third column that subtracts every entry from. i.e.

    this third column= complete_date-request_date.

what is the correct way/easiest way/most efficient way to do this?

    thanks guys

    Hi
Simply enter that formula in the top cell of your third column, hit enter. then put your selector back over that cell and hold your cursor over the lower right hand corner of the cell, when the four way arrow changes from fat to skinnier you double click and this will copy the formula all the way down the column adjusting for each row thus giving you the correct number of days between the two dates. if it gives you some weird number than make sure you are 1. subtracting the newer date column from the older column and 2. that the column is formatted for dates.
    hope this works.
