I am trying to Autofill cells from a drop down menu. I want to be able to choose a "type of testing" from the drop down menu and autofill the cells with the tests that needs to be performed. I am wanting to put an "X" in the cell if the test needs to be performed. If the test is not required, leave the cell blank.

Try this in E2 and drag to the right...
=INDEX($P$2:$W$5,MATCH($D2,$O$2:$O$5,0),MATCH(E$1,$P$1:$W$1,0))

I tried it in E2, but the X's does not change when I choose a different "type of testing". Then, what about copying it down the spreadsheet as we plug samples into the sheet.
Look at this example...

It would work, I am trying to show what testing needs to be performed. Whatever I need to to to make the required tests to stand out. I once thought about making the required test boxes green and the not required red. I also need help to get the boxes changing when the "type of testing" is changed.
Thank you for all of the help. I am an EXCEL novice. I enjoy trying to figure out how to use Excel to simplify my life and work-life. I'm just on a deadline with the "sample tracker"

I apologize. When the "Type of Testing" is changed from the drop down menu, the "X" under composition, moisture, vod, etc.... will either appear or not. This is just a trial sheet to present to my boss. If I could get it to work, we would type in the mix number, shop order, then select what type of testing needs to be performed from the drop down menu, the "X's" would then appear in the cells under the desired test, composition, moisture, vod, etc....
Right now if I select "Type of Testing" equals Military PBX, all cells E:L have an "X".
If I select "Type of Testing" equals Cast Cure then only Compisition and Moisture have an "X".
If I select "Type of Testing" equals Commercial PBX then Taggant, VOD, and Density have an "X".
Can you give me a specific example of how this is not working are what you required different than the above?
