I would like to create a template which references many sheets that do not exist yet. I will be adding this template to new workbooks and want the fields to be populated then. How do I this?
Use the INDIRECT() function, it will give #REF error when the resolved sheetnames do not exist yet.

Why are you creating a template that will need sheets adding? A template usually contains all sheets & formulas, etc that will be needed
