    Re: Subtotal only Visible Column

    @Fotis 1991 for the reply.

i tried, but no avail. same result. here's also my problem.

    Range was fixed.

    Column B - 10
    Column D - 5
    Column E - 10

    Column G (Result): 8:33

after i hide the column D, result in column G does not change

i tried your suggestion and mine also, still no changes in result.

    here's my formula:
    =subtotal(101, B1,D1,E1) result is 8:33

but after i hide any column specified above, result does not change.

    Thanks.

    Re: Subtotal only Visible Column

I think it only works with hidden rows, not hidden columns.

    Re: Subtotal only Visible Column

    MS help says,

The SUBTOTAL function is designed for columns of data, or vertical ranges. It is not designed for rows of data, or horizontal ranges. For example, when you subtotal a horizontal range using a function_num of 101 or greater, such as SUBTOTAL(109,B2:G2), hiding a column does not affect the subtotal. But, hiding a row in a subtotal of a vertical range does affect the subtotal
You will need VBA for this. Check this link

    Re: Subtotal only Visible Column

As i know(Maybe i am wrong), you can not do this with functions..

You can use SUBTOTAL, for rows and Auto filter....
