    Pivot table source location problem???

    OS - Windows 7 (32bit)
    S/W - Excel 2007 SP2

    Hi All,

First post on this forum, hope you can help

This problem seems to happening intermittently on my system...I've linked several spreadsheets together, which are not stored locally on my PC but on network drives/locations. Several people who I work with, working on XP, have not issues opening them and amending but I sometimes when I open them for some reason it spontaneously re-links the source location

i.e. instead of \\svr-as\info\analysis\trading\[gross revenue.xlsxm] it will say c:\user\analysis\trading\[gross revenue.xlsxm] or information will be removed from the path such as \\svr-as\analysis\trading\[gross revenue.xlsxm]

The only workaround I've currently got is to manually change the source file (trust me there's hundreds).

Any ideas/help would be great appreciated,

Go to the Backstage view. Go to the Info tab. Expand to show all properties. Change Hyperlink base to C:\

I don't know if this will also affect pivot table sources, but it is worth a shot. You may need to manually re-connect the pivot table once to regenerate the path.
