Hi, I am having a problem matching a few accounts, The problem is as follows
I receive an excel dokument with account names, currencies and amounts.
What i would like to do is to check that the balances are equal to what i think they should be in my excel document.
The probelm arises when for example i have posts with two amounts and they have one with the total amount, for example:
My file:
Harrry EUR 100
Harry EUR 200
john eur 100
Jane eur 50
Jane eur 100
Their file
Harry eur 300
john EUR 100
jane eur 150
What I am looking for is to see that for each name we have the same amounts. The names are also different, i have been using vlookup to create matches so the ones with one name like John above are not a problem but obviously when trying to do the same with their aggregated accounts i get an issue. One note of importance is that this is a daily check and names can drop off or enter so manually aggregating is not really an option.
Any help much appreciated

Possibly using SUMIF or SUMPRODUCT formulas to test for equality?
As dangelor suggests try the "SUMIF" function. See example in file.
