    Lookup based on Max Date

    Hi,

I need a formula that would do a lookup based the most current date. In Column A are ticket numbers and i have to track the Status of each ticket # based on the most current date. I initially would like to use a Maxif array formula, but there are so many entries that excel bogs down if i use any array formula, I'm looking at a raw data that have more than 500,000 ticket#.

Is it possible to solve my problem without using Array Formulas? Or will a Macro be able to solve my problem?

    thanks

What is it you want to look up? The sample wb doesn't show? If it's the status, then what is the rule to determine it?
