Data Validation - two in one cell

Is it possible to give two data validations to one cell; I want a name range (list) & input format:

name range is "EMDIST" and other format for validation is 5alpha+4numeric+1alpha (like PAN)

Why would you need that? If you have a Data Validation List, either it's in there or it's not. And you'd only put things in the DV List that were the right format, wouldn't you?

Thank you for your reply ... actually its confidential data and as I told the validation list is in "5alpha+4numeric+1alpha" format if somebody enter any random "5alpha" it displays some information and immediately its disappears. but still I want to prevent it from showing the data.
