My boss asked for this, and I have no idea how to do it. He wants to be able to type into a cell a number of a product that we make, and have it replaced with the description. We have about 300 products and he gave me a list with the product numbers and descriptions. Is there any way to do this? I don't think he would mind if the description appeared on a different cell.

I rarely return to a problem once I've answered it so make sure you clearly define what the trouble is.
I don't know how to use the vlookup. if they type in the number where in the bottom values does it go? where does the list where they're being looked up go? Where does the info that they need to bring back go? and where does the location of the info retured go in the bottom values?
