Excel 2007 : Automatically change the Worksheet tab names with the cell value in each worksheet?

I am fairly new to macros and have trouble with VBA. I have a file with multiple worksheets. Each worksheet contains the name of a specific location in cell A8. I want this name in cell A8 to be the name on the worksheet tab for each worksheet in my file but do not know how to accomplish this. Is that even possible?

Hello Bob Phillips, I am a new member, and I am interested in instituting the same function suggested by RoseMV. How do you apply your code? Is this part of a VBA subroutine or can it be applied as a macro, and if so, how? Your help would be greatly appreciated. By the way, I am using Excel 2007.

You need to change the range B2 to suit you needs then you right click on the sheet tab select "View Code" and paste this code in the new window that opens.

What if the cell tha contains the data is too long.
So for example the Cell i want to use contains the following: ABCD - lots of sill little detail
I just want the sheet to be named ABCD other sheets contain say EGRGTHY - lots of even more little details. In this case I would just want the data before the - and not a specific number of letters.
