    Corrupt OLE Structure

HI, I am trying to recover an excel file:

The file was on a USB pen stick. I am unable to to open the file which is 80kb in size and just had text and numbers in it (ie no macros or formulas).

There were 2 worksheets in the file. I have opened and worked on the file numerous times before with no problem opening it. When I last worked on it I edited some data, added the second worksheet, saved the file, and then changed the file name.

When I now try to open it, it comes up with the message as below:

"file cannot be accessed.. the file may be read-only or you may be trying to access a read only location, or the server the document is stored on may not be responding" and "unable to read file"

My PC is Windows XP, and the Excel file was originally created in Microsoft Office 2003.

    1) I have tried to open the file using Google Docs, Open Office, ExcelViewer but no luck.... it comes up with the message"file invalid". I have tried recovery tools including "Pandora Recovery" and managed to recover a tmp file from my USB stick which may be an old copy of the file, and opened it using WORDPAD, but it did not display the data, only a bunch of characters.

    2) I have tried the data recovery tool "Repair my Excel" which scanned the file and then came up with the following messages

    File Open - OK

    OLE Header - OK

OLE Header Structure Corrupt - X

    Reading BIFF - OK

    3) I have also tried EXCELFIX (the demo version) and ran the "diagnose" on the file and it came up saying the "OLE structure is corrupt and cannot be recovered". Also, from the results that came out, it showed only blank cells for what looked like one worksheet, so I wonder if there is any way or tool that can access only the 2nd worksheet as i am only interested in getting that back. It only had text and numbers in it and approx 10kb in size .

I still do have an old copy of the excel file which can be opened; but does not include the 2nd worksheet, if that is of any help.

    Would appreciate any assistance please.

If you could zip your workbook and upload it, I can try and open it with Excel 2010. Sometimes the newer versions are able to correct these issues, but no guarrentee.

Sorry, I failed to open or repair it in Excel 2010. It just says it can't be opened because it is corrupt.
