how to switch x and y axis

    Hi all,

    I have a table below:

    1.jpg

that produces the line graph below:

    2.jpg

The chart is plotted correctly. However I would like to switch the x, y axis. Meaning the x should display 0,10,20,30,40,50 and y should display H,G,F,E,D,C,B,A. I have google how to do that but I found no solution to it.

    Any suggestion please?

    Thanks,
    Alex

    Hi,

I understand that you are working on excel 2003 and I'm working on 2007.

Can you check this is 2003??

    1. Right click on the chart area
    2. Click on "Select Data"

And check if you have any option as "Switch Row/Column" similar to this one in the picture. untitled.JPG

I have attached the spreadsheet that shows the chart once you do the above steps. alex-example.xlsx

    Thanks,

Re: how to switch x and y axis

    Hi,

    Thanks for your suggestion.

Switching the Row/Column seems to make the x axis as X,Y,Z and the y axis as 0,10,20,30,40,50. But what I intend to have is x axis as 0,10,20,30,40,50 and y axis as H,G,F,E,D,C,B,A.

    Is that possible?

    Alex

You need to use a xy-scatter and fake the Y axis text labels.
