xlsb vs xlsm What's the difference?

    Hello Guys!

What is the difference between these two formats? I had a problem with the error saying "Excel found unreadable content.." in my macro file. But when i saved as xlsb, the problem seemed fixed. Or is it? Are there no difference in their functionality, I mean, can I still run the macros or update the files using the macro in my sheets? And by the way, I think I saw in one forum (i think in this forum) where a dude solved the "unreadble content" error. Unfortunately can't find it anywhere.

    Hope someone can help me..

    Thank you very much!

A file with the XLSB file extension is an Excel Binary Workbook file.
Excel Binary Workbook files store information in binary format instead of the XML format like with most other Excel files. Since XLSB files are binary, they can be read from and written to much faster, making them extremely useful for very large spreadsheets.

A file with the XLSM file extension is an Excel Macro-Enabled Workbook file.

    Hi!

Thanks for the answer.. So I can save my XLSM file as XLSB without any changes? I mean, all the macro codes in my XLSM original file will still run if I save it as XLSB file? No difference in their functionality?
