my grid-lines have disappeared

All of the sudden my grid-lines have disappeared. I have them checked in my view screen and also in file options advanced tab and still no grid lines. If I highlight the area I can see them. Any ideas what I have done and what I can do to get them back?

I m using 2010. Where can i find "view ribbons' I can not seem to find it under the view tab

I have that checked. Still no grid lines. Thanks for helping
