    Date Formatting

I've just been upgraded to a computer with Windows 7 and Office 2010. Before the upgrade, when I entered "Nov 7" as a date in Excel (no matter how the cell was formatted) it read the date to be November 7, 2011. Now when I enter the same thing, it reads it as November 1, 2007. No matter how the cell is formatted (date, custom, etc), it picks the number digits up as the year instead of the day.

Is there a way to change this or is it just something I have to adjust to with the new system??

Re: Issues with Excel Date Formatting

check that the setting for you computer in control panel > region & language. are set to the correct local.

it maybe that it is trying to be clever and interpret your input based on the machine setting rather than ones in excel
