Can not insert a new sheet in a 2007 excel file

Hi, the file was originally created in 2003. I upgraded to 2007 a while back and cannot insert sheets in to the workbook.

    Hi,

How are you trying to insert a sheet? There are two options.
Either use the 'Insert' drop down in the 'Cells' area of the ribbon and choose 'Insert Sheet' or simply click the small sheet icon tab to the right of the last sheet tab name.

I have tried both ways.. On the drop down for the cells, everything is grayed out except for protection and view code. From what I can see there is no protectionon the sheets or the workbook.

In that case I think you'd better upload the workbook.

    Hi,

Are you sharing the workbook by any chance?

When I first opened it I could add sheets without any problem, but couldn't see the macros. I was getting the 'Project is unviewable' when trying to see it in the Project Properties of the VBE, which is the message you get when the workbook is shared.

After I first made it a shared workbook, saved it, re-opened and then removed the sharing aspect the macros then became viewable.

    Try experimenting with adding/removing sharing.
