I am working with a spreadsheet / workbook with many different formulas and calculations happening all of the worksheet. The only cells left unlocked are those where the user is asked for information - everything else is protected, including the workbook. The problem I am finding is that I will get a #Value! error. The cause of the error is that a cell being reference shows no entry in the cell or on the formula bar. If I move to that cell and simply press 'delete' on the keyboard, the error is instantly fixed and all the calculations are normal. I have physically 'deleted' all of the unprotected cells one by one, but we still occassionally find this issue.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Could the ghost cells actually have a "space" in them? Sometimes users will clear a cell by pressing space and enter.
You can check for a space by clicking on the cell and pressing F2. If there is no space, the cursor will be snug on the left. If there is a space, it will be moved a bit to the right.

I am not sure, but will check the next time 1 is found.
Thank You
