Hello all,
Please see the attached link for a clear picture of what I am trying to do...
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images...pture2dop.png/
I want to take the sources (Home of MS, (Auction) Axis Reading Storage, etc...) and collapse and expand all the inventory from that source. so for instance if i collapsed "Home of MS" rows 8,9,10,&11 would disappear.
Basically all the data associated with a particular inventory source should collapse or expand when i want it to.
Is what I'm asking for possible?
I look forward to your replies!!
Thank you
It is possible, but in order for Excel to work like a database (which it isn't) you have to at least adhere to a few rules. In this case, every row in column A should contain the item you want to group on. You can then filter that column and return only the items you want.
Alternatives would be using Grouping (for which you can manually set) or use macros. It would be 99.99% simpler just to repeat the column A values for each sub-entry.
Paul Thanks for your reply...
Lets assume I did. Say I added a column "D" and next to every inventory ITEM I had the source name.... What would be my next step?
Since you're already using autofilters in your header row, make sure column D also has the autofilter applied. You can then click the drop-down autofilter arrow and de-select the item you want to "hide".
Oh man so simple! How did i not put that together!?! Thank you so much!!
