Hide hours and seconds in hh:mm:ss cells?

Hello, i have encountered a problem that i cannot find an answer to online, so i hope someone with more excel-perience can help me out

I have a number of columns of hh:mm:ss formatted cells, showing the time of trains arriving at certain stations. what i would like is for excel to only display the minutes , ex: cell a1 shows 01:14:32, i want it to display 14. i would be really happy if there was a solution for excel to round up the minutes to 15 if the seconds are more than 30, and round down if the seconds are less or equal to 30.

Any help would be much appreciated

btw: i HAVE tried changing the cell format to [mm], but that is not my solution.

If you have tried formatting the cell as mm and it doesn't change, it sounds as though the cell is formatted as text rather than a true time.

I suggest you post a sample workbook so we can see what you're working with.

Where does the data come from? Another system?

To best describe or illustrate your problem you would be better off attaching a dummy workbook, the workbook should contain the same structure and some dummy data of the same type as the type you have in your real workbook - so, if a cell contains numbers & letters in this format abc-123 then that should be reflected in the dummy workbook. Don't upload a picture when you have a workbook question. None of us is inclined to recreate your data. Upload the workbook and manually add an 'after' situation so that we can see what you expect. In addition clearly explain how you get the results..
