Help with correlation and regression!

Hi,

I am a new user of excel. Unfortunately using Excel 2003 as of now.

Wanted to understand if Excel can help me run regression and correlation on nominal data? The raw data that I am using is not on a rating scale, and am unaware how it would work.

Also, due to the nature of questions, there are a huge number of blank cells? Would it affect while analyzing? Would it help to replace it with 0?
