I'm new to Excel and would like to set up a way to keep track of gift
certificates sold (date, amount, who for, who from, therapist), date when it
was redeemed, etc. Can anyone offer any advice?
I am using Microsoft Office Excel 2003.

In Row 1, across the top, type your column headings: date, amount, who for,
who from, therapist
Click on cell A2 and hit Window-->Freeze panes.
Click on Column A, and Format-->Cells and choose a date format you like.
Click on Column B, and Format-->Cells and choose a number format you like.
Start typing in your gift certificates.
