When I type text in a cell it continues across the cell on the same line. When I am adding a lot of text this line can get very long, and when I print it out, it is way off of the page (sometimes off the second page) How can I have the text fall within the cell at a chosen width so new lines of text don't just continue across the page but go down the page within the cell?
I hope the description of this problem is clear.
Thank you in advance--

To obtain a line break within a cell, press Alt+Enter.

Thank you Mike. That works when I am entering new text, but when I went back to the cell in which the text continued on one line, when I pressed Alt+Enter at the place that I wanted to create another line, the text was deleted and replaced with a formula that was unfamiliar to me. Is there a way to go back to a cell after the text has been entered to create a line break in a cell?Originally Posted by Mikeopolo

select whole worksheet then
1 format/cells/alignment ,select wrap text
2 format/row height , select autofit
3 format/column, select autofit selection
Martin-- Thank you. I did that and it worked, however I would like to be able to tweak the text a little. Is there a way of going back inside the cell to edit the text? When I click on the cell with text in it and start to type, the original text is deleted. How can I edit this existing text?
Also is there a way that I can create a space between the rows of cells without adding a new row? When I print out the spreadsheet, there is no separation of text from the above cell to the one below, that is, the text from the above cell appears to flow into the text in the cell, below. (when looking at the text on the screen, this problem does not exist because of the lines that appear on screen. These lines do not appear on the printout.)

yesIs there a way of going back inside the cell to edit the text?
select cell then double click
cursor will appear in cell
you can then edit to your hearts content
you can print the gridlines if you go file /print preview/setup/sheet
check the print gridline box

Wow. It's all a matter of knowing the tricks of the trade! Thank you so much! You have saved me from much frustration.
Be well--
